Kolba Lab will organize a one-day design thinking workshop to address adult employment and inclusion issues, bringing together psychologists, researchers, architects, designers, creative people and program-thinkers, along with idea leaders, to come up with creative and innovative solutions to the issue.
A design thinking workshop is a format that brings together diverse professionals and users for a structured brainstorming and idea generation over a specific issue.
The workshop aims to create channels for identifying and marketing the capacity of unemployed scientists, artists and other qualified adult professionals, as well to identify social inclusion mechanisms to keep the pension-age adults involved in social life.
Background: Human resources have been traditionally valorized in Armenia. For decades Armenian people have compensated the country’s lack in natural resources with considerable investments in skilled workforce. The political, social and economic challenges of post-Soviet transition have greatly shattered the quality of life which particularly contributed to increasing skill demands and decreasing reliability on adult education and learning. Professionals after their 50es have little chances to find new employment opportunities. The situation creates not only economic, but also social and cultural implications in the society.
When and Where: The event is planned for September 12, Saturday at Mirzoyan Library, 10 Mher Mkrtchyan Str., from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
