Kolba is bringing together troublemakers, data geeks, hackers and civil servants for a networking event (Kolba Cafe) on open data and citizen science.

 

As part of the event, there will be presentations from:

·  Frank Kresin, Research Director at the Waag Society, on the Smart Citizen Platform

·  Samvel Martirosyan, Dean of Yerevan Branch of the Awesome Foundation, on open data in Armenia

·  Ron Salaj, Digital Lead at the Innovations Lab Kosovo, on citizen science in Kosovo

The event is part of the global SHIFT week of innovation action, and the first in what we hope will become a series of networking events on open data.

We will have lots of coffee and food, so sign up soon as spaces are limited.

Citizen science is scientific research conducted, in whole or in part, by amateur or nonprofessional scientists, often by crowdsourcing.  Citizen science often creates open datasets.
