The city management authorities of Yerevan communicate with citizens on all different levels and formats, including through the most decentralized local units, called condominiums.
Not all residents are aware of how the budget for their condominiums is compiled, what they should expect from the structure or how their regular payments are spent.
To optimize and ease the communication between residents and condominiums, increase efficiency and make condominium operations more transparent, a concept for the electronic governance (e-gov) of condominiums was developed during the by the “Oorban” team during Kolba Lab’s EU-funded Smart City Hackathon.
The team behind Oorban was awarded first prize for the development of an electronic management system for condominiums, designed to ensure the transparent management of funds and better communication between local governance bodies and residents of the buildings.
The platform will enable trilateral cooperation between the municipality, building residents and condominiums. The system is expected to be tested and officially launched in spring 2018.
If you have any ideas and suggestion what kind of features you’d like this online system to give you as a user, let us know by dropping a message to one of our channels @kolbalab either on Facebook or Twitter.
The Smart City Hackathon was organised as part of the “Inno4Dev” project, which is funded by the European Union.
