The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s Kolba Innovations Lab, in partnership with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, is implementing Future Skills and Jobs for Armenia’s Rural Youth project, funded by the Russian Federation.

Project seeks to enhance opportunities of employability as well as promote self-employment and entrepreneurship amongst youth in the regions of Armenia, to expand employment opportunities by developing self-employment and entrepreneurial skills, and to prepare the youth for the labor market of the future. The target regions of the project are Shirak, Tavush, Gegharkunik and Lori with respective focus on agriculture and food processing, tourism and creative industry sectors.

As part of skills development component of the project, we invite employers to join partnership platform to co-organize internships for young professionals and engage mid-career professionals from target industries.

Who can apply?

Organizations operating in one of the sectors: tourism, agriculture, food processing, creative industry. Preference will be given to organizations who operate in the project’s target regions (Lori, Shirak, Tavush, Gegharkunik) or plan to establish production units in the mentioned regions.

Terms and conditions:

The project offers two main types of partnership; however, we are open for new formats and ideas:

1. Organization of short-term internships for young professionals. This offer is for organizations that are willing to work with UNDP to develop individual training and internship plans for young specialists who don’t have professional working experience, are students or recent graduates. Internships lasting from three to four months should include professional skill building component by the employer, professional mentorship and engagement of interns in daily working routine of the organization. Remote/online format of internships can also be considered. All interested organizations are welcome to fill out the online application.

  • Jointly designed program on skill building and young talent development, evaluation program of practical skills, outcome assessment criteria that can be used by the employer in further engagement of young professionals
  • Financial support for the engagement of young talent
  • Membership of employers’ cooperation network
  • Practical toolkit and opportunity for further engagement of human resources

2. Recruitment of mid-career professionals from target industries. This format of cooperation offers support to the organizations (operating either in agriculture and food processing, tourism or creative industry sectors), by engaging mid-career professionals according the needs assessment of hosting organization. By this partnership offer, UNDP will help organizations to be better prepared for challenges of market by engaging qualified human resources for specific consultancy assignment.   • UNDP’s support in engaging field experts to help organisations in becoming more resilient and competitive in the current market, and develop resilience towards future market requirements
  • Support from UNDP to engage human resources and talent, which alternatively might not be accessible for the organisations
  • Jointly developed individual co-working plan, which can be used by the employer in the future
