In 2017, Eiva Arts Foundation responded to Kolba Lab’s call for innovative ideas in education and presented their idea combining educational gaming technologies and Armenian art.

The co-authors of the game intended to design a series of interactive Armenian language learning games that promote art education. Through the games, compiled in one package, the players will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the most famous works of 12 Armenian artists.

When Eiva’s team participated in the Armenia Startup Cup on Education, their idea was selected among the best and was therefore eligible to receive incubation and implementation support from the “Inno4dev” project, funded by the European Union.

Officially launched already, “ARVEST” is the first-ever board game in Armenian dedicated to Armenia’s outstanding artists. The game aims to trigger children’s curiosity towards art in an easy-to-grasp, visual and interactive manner. The game features 12 of Armenia’s great artists, along with some of their most famous artworks (including those that are exhibited in Yerevan’s art galleries). It also has a factbook that contains some of the most interesting but lesser known biographical facts about each artist and explores the peculiarities of their style, fostering the skill of deciphering the artwork correctly. The game can be played with two or more children older than 5 years.

In perspective, it is planned that the game might be used in public schools as additional material for art education.

The game can be purchased here. Feel free to get in touch with the co-authors of the game on facebook to share any interesting idea you might have.
