Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic is having far-reaching socio-economic implications on youth and women. Young people, especially those living in rural areas, were heavily affected by the lack of employment and educational opportunities, resulting in short-term and long-term income losses. In order to ensure that youth and women have the opportunity to develop professional skills and gain knowledge, which will help them easily enter the labor market, Kolba Lab has designed an intense skill-building and on-the-job training program.

The aim of the program is to deliver fast-track extension courses for rapid reskilling and upskilling of women and youth living in rural areas by capturing and unleashing their competitive advantages and hidden talents. This intense five months Kolba Internship program will give participants practical professional knowledge, develop entrepreneurship skills, increase chances of employment by providing relevant skill-building and giving access to the network of mentors and local and international employers. The opportunity is open for women and youth from Lori, Shirak, Tavush and Gegharkunik regions. This round of skill building and internship targets Social Media Architecture and Management specialization.

 Kolba internship will run in two phases:

  • Intense skill-building courses for 1.5-2 months. This will be done by an invited trainers who will provide training with practical assignments, applying a hybrid format of teaching and participation: online and offline.
  • Paid internship opportunity for up to 3 months for the best selected students, combining hybrid format of work: remote and on site.

This opportunity is for you if:

  • You are recent graduates having a professional qualification in one of the above mentioned sectors;
  • You are last year students of vocational or higher educational institutions, specializing in one of the above mentioned sectors;
  • You are female residing in one of four target regions;
  • You are resident of Shirak, Lori, Gegharkunik or Tavush regions;
  • You are willing to acquire new practical skills, knowledge, and ready to commit 6 months of engagemetn during the period June- November, 2021

Terms and conditions:

Internship will take place during the period of July-November 2021 , including practical skill and professional capacity building component ( 1.5-2 months), following with involvement in regular working routine. Best participants, recommended by the training providers and selected by UNDP/Kolba Lab team will be offered paid internship opportunity for up to 3 months. The internship may consider both types of engagement: physical and remote/online.
