October started in Yerevan with tons of innovative and technological events, which changed the whole atmosphere and energy in the city. While rushing from one discussion to another conference one could hear conversations mostly starting with ” Here is the idea I had been thinking about for a long time and want to realize it now”.
For all those enthusiasts with bright ideas, Kolba Lab together with PicsArt Studio and Create Together team organized Hachaton and invited everyone to bring their ideas to work on in teams.
A Hackathon is a gathering and a coding event where programmers work together on a single project over a short space of time.This time the Hackathon brought together innovators, technologists, entrepreneurs and creatives to Armenia from all around the world. Each participannt had the freedom to use their talents and skills on a topic or issue that interests them and join the team/idea they wanted.
Below are 14 ideas that were invited to participate out of more than 100 applications received for the Hackathon. PicsArt opened its doors for all hackers at 1AM, who started with a nightshift of hacking and continued with day time working till 5PM of the next day till the jury panel arrived.
- GoPlan.Biz – web tool allowing creation of easy business plan and fin analysis
- Studr.am – alternative educational platform, where tutors and students can find each other
- Online game helping people (esp. youth) to advance in local governance and participatory democracy
- BiLogin – universal lobal login platform helping websites/apps easily implement login/signup process for their users without a password
- Tour Box – online platform, allowing arrangement of P2P delivery of letters/boxes all over the world
- Armtraffic.am – mobile app for collecting, analysing and evaluating traffic data
- Pulpulak Club – mobile app, helping to find the closest water fountain
- An online tool, which uses PicsArtStudio API to pull picturess,see info available & what can be done with them
- Jobber- mobile app, which helps to find the best job by aggregating data from different job portals
- Moodism – a mobile app, which builds motion based contact list, helps to monitor user’s mood while phone conversations
- PriceMonitor- an app to monitor family consumption and budget
- 1 minute – human based online advising platform,where users get an answer for their questions in 1 minute
- Video Note – mobile handy tool to make comments, notes and marks while shooting a video with phone
After hard night & day teamwork, idea leaders pitched their prototypes to the jury. As a result, BiLogin and Video Note won first and second prizes accordingly, while Pulpulak Club was recognized as best social project.
