“I have a great idea for a business, but I don’t know where to start”. Sounds familiar?

Today, the word “start-up” has become something of a buzzword. People everywhere are trying to figure out what kind of initiatives fall into the cool new category. Is a newly opened café a start-up in the same way as a mobile app that reports in our health conditions? Can we really put an artistic pop-up gallery in the same category as a new, locally-driven social network?

What do these things have in common, and how can we best make a success out of them?

Whatever your passion or area of interest, strong planning is required before you move from paper to practice and turn your super-cool idea into a rock-star business. So, have you planned what part of your start-up will convert first-time users into long-term fans?

On 12th May, at17:00 Kolba Lab will host Armen Margarian, author of “The Essentials of Doing Business in Armenia”, to deliver a public talk on how to start up your start-up (pun regretfully intended). Join the event here.

Armen will be talking about a range of interesting topics, including:

·  What to consider before diving into an ocean of opportunities and risks.

·  How to market and position your ideas effectively.

·  How to better understand the human needs and emotions of your users, and why that’s a good idea.

·  How to get practical (whether planning your budget, keeping your business plan realistic, building a model based on growth, etc.)

Armen Margarian is the co-founder/CEO of NexusLab Inc, manager at The Margarian Law Firm and publisher of the Consumer Law Magazine, Startup Law Magazine and Wise Car Shopper magazine.

The talk is part of #Inno4dev: Innovation for Development project, which is funded by the European Union.
